Expanding Access to Quality Outpatient Care in Central Texas
The Harker Heights Medical Pavilion is a 60,408-square-foot outpatient facility developed for Ascension (formerly Seton Healthcare Family) to expand healthcare services in Central Texas. Completed in 2012, the facility is located adjacent to Seton Medical Center Harker Heights and serves as a key component of the hospital campus. Designed to support the growing demand for outpatient and specialty care, the pavilion provides patients with convenient access to a wide range of medical services in a modern, efficient environment.
FACILITY FEATURES & SERVICES
The Harker Heights Medical Pavilion consolidates multiple physician specialties and outpatient programs under one roof, enhancing care coordination and accessibility for the surrounding community. The facility includes:
- Primary Care and Family Medicine
- Specialty Clinics including Cardiology, Orthopaedics, and Women’s Health
- Diagnostic Imaging including MRI, CT, and X-ray
- Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation
- Laboratory and Phlebotomy Services
- Ambulatory Surgery and Procedure Rooms
- Physician Offices and Administrative Spaces
- Shared Reception, Registration, and Patient Waiting Areas
The building was designed for operational efficiency, with flexible tenant suites that accommodate future growth and service expansion. Architectural features such as natural light, intuitive wayfinding, and convenient patient access support both comfort and clinical workflow.
Rendina’s Role
Rendina served as developer and project manager for the Harker Heights Medical Pavilion, providing comprehensive oversight from site planning and financing through design, construction, and delivery. Working closely with Ascension and Seton Medical Center leadership, Rendina coordinated with design and construction teams to ensure seamless integration with the adjacent hospital campus. The project was completed on time and within budget, supporting Ascension’s goal of strengthening its regional outpatient network across Central Texas.
Impact
The Harker Heights Medical Pavilion expands Ascension’s presence in Bell County and provides residents with convenient access to high-quality outpatient care close to home. By bringing multiple physician practices and diagnostic services together, the facility improves care coordination, enhances patient satisfaction, and supports the continued growth of Seton Medical Center Harker Heights.
