Advancing Outpatient Orthopedic Surgery Across South Carolina’s Grand Strand
The Carolina Coast Surgery Center is a 22,432-square-foot ambulatory surgery facility developed for OrthoSC, the region’s leading provider of orthopedic and sports medicine care. Completed in 2015, the center was designed to deliver advanced surgical services in a modern, efficient, and patient-centered environment. Located in Murrells Inlet, the facility supports OrthoSC’s commitment to providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care across South Carolina’s Grand Strand and surrounding communities.
FACILITY FEATURES & SERVICES
The surgery center provides a full range of outpatient orthopedic and pain management procedures, combining high-quality surgical technology with a focus on comfort and efficiency. The facility includes:
- Four operating rooms and two procedure rooms
- Pre-operative and post-anesthesia care units (PACU)
- Private patient recovery bays and consultation rooms
- Imaging and diagnostic services
- Physical therapy and rehabilitation areas
- Physician offices and staff support spaces
- Patient registration and family waiting areas

Rendina’s Role
Rendina served as developer and project manager for the Carolina Coast Surgery Center, overseeing all aspects of the project from site planning and financing through design and construction. Working closely with OrthoSC leadership, Rendina coordinated with architects, contractors, and state regulators to ensure compliance with South Carolina’s healthcare facility standards. The project was delivered on time and within budget, allowing OrthoSC to expand surgical capacity and introduce new specialties in a growing market.
