In 2015, Rendina acquired three medical office buildings on the campus of Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, New Jersey, totaling more than 127,000 square feet. Following the acquisition, Rendina assumed full property management responsibilities and implemented a comprehensive strategy to improve operations, enhance tenant satisfaction, and support the long-term goals of RWJBarnabas Health. Through on-site management and targeted capital improvements, Rendina transformed the portfolio into a high-performing campus aligned with the hospital’s mission of delivering high-quality care.
THE CHALLENGE
Prior to Rendina’s involvement, the MOBs faced aging infrastructure, deferred maintenance, and outdated common areas that no longer reflected the high standards of the adjacent hospital campus. The challenge was to stabilize the assets, enhance the tenant experience, and align property management with the hospital’s long-term goals.
