Expanding UF Health’s Network of Convenient Care
UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Center – Lane Avenue is an 11,728-square-foot hybrid medical facility that integrates emergency and urgent care services into a single, accessible location. Completed in 2023, the facility is part of a multi-site program between Rendina Healthcare Real Estate, UF Health, and Intuitive Health aimed at redefining how patients access unscheduled care. Strategically located in Jacksonville’s Westside community, the Lane Avenue facility delivers high-quality, convenient care closer to home, supporting UF Health’s mission to expand its regional outpatient network.
FACILITY FEATURES & SERVICES
The Lane Avenue center combines the resources of a full-service emergency department with the efficiency of an urgent care clinic, enabling patients to receive appropriate care in one location without the confusion of choosing between facilities. The building includes:
- Separate emergency and urgent care treatment zones supported by shared staff and diagnostic areas
- On-site imaging including CT scan, X-ray, and laboratory testing
- Triage and trauma rooms for high-acuity cases
- 10 exam rooms and a centralized nurse station to streamline patient flow
- Physician-led medical teams providing round-the-clock care
- Comfortable patient waiting areas and private consultation rooms
The design supports Intuitive Health’s dual-service delivery model, which integrates emergency and urgent care operations to reduce wait times, lower patient costs, and improve satisfaction.
Rendina’s Role
Rendina served as developer and project manager for the Lane Avenue facility, overseeing the full development process from land acquisition and entitlement through construction and delivery. Working in partnership with UF Health and Intuitive Health, Rendina ensured seamless coordination among all stakeholders, including local municipalities and healthcare operators. The project represents one of several UF Health–Intuitive Health facilities Rendina has delivered across Florida, underscoring a strong and consistent partnership focused on outpatient innovation.
Impact
The UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Center – Lane Avenue enhances healthcare access for residents in West Jacksonville by offering a single, convenient destination for both emergency and urgent care needs. The hybrid model reduces unnecessary hospital emergency department visits and provides cost transparency for patients. By integrating advanced diagnostic equipment, clinical efficiency, and patient-centered design, the facility supports UF Health’s commitment to providing exceptional care while expanding its footprint in underserved areas of Northeast Florida.
