Seamless Emergency and Urgent Care in One Location
UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Center – Baymeadows is a 12,490-square-foot hybrid healthcare facility that combines a full-service emergency department and urgent care center under one roof. Completed in 2023, the facility is part of a multi-site partnership between Rendina Healthcare Real Estate, UF Health, and Intuitive Health to expand convenient, on-demand care throughout Northeast Florida. The Baymeadows location provides patients with 24/7 access to emergency and urgent care services in a modern, patient-centered environment designed for efficiency and comfort.
FACILITY FEATURES & SERVICES
The Baymeadows facility delivers both emergency and urgent care services in a single, integrated location, eliminating the need for patients to decide where to go for unscheduled medical needs. The facility includes:
- 10 exam and treatment rooms for both urgent and emergency care
- On-site diagnostic imaging including CT scan, X-ray, and laboratory services
- Dedicated trauma and triage rooms for emergency cases
- Patient and family waiting areas designed for privacy and comfort
- Centralized registration and intake to streamline patient flow
- Physician-led teams providing care across both service levels
The design reflects Intuitive Health’s proven dual-model concept, allowing patients to receive the appropriate level of care based on acuity while maintaining transparency in billing and continuity of service.
Rendina’s Role
Rendina served as developer and project manager for the Baymeadows facility, coordinating the project from site selection through design, construction, and delivery. Working closely with UF Health and Intuitive Health, Rendina managed all aspects of the development process, including entitlement approvals and construction oversight. The Baymeadows facility is one of several UF Health–Intuitive Health locations that Rendina has delivered across Florida, reflecting a successful, ongoing partnership focused on accessible, cost-effective care delivery.
Impact
The UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Center – Baymeadows strengthens the UF Health network’s reach across the Jacksonville region by offering a convenient alternative to traditional hospital-based emergency departments. The hybrid model improves access to timely care, reduces unnecessary emergency room visits, and enhances patient satisfaction. By providing emergency and urgent care services within one facility, the project supports UF Health’s mission to deliver exceptional, value-based healthcare while advancing its commitment to innovation and community service.
