The Children’s Specialized Hospital Outpatient Center in Toms River is a 90,000-square-foot pediatric specialty care facility developed in partnership with Children’s Specialized Hospital and RWJBarnabas Health. Completed in 2023, the center consolidates multiple outpatient services into a single, state-of-the-art building designed specifically for children and adolescents with complex medical, developmental, and behavioral needs. The project expands access to care for families throughout Ocean and Monmouth Counties, enhancing the system’s ability to deliver specialized pediatric services in a modern, family-friendly environment.
FACILITY FEATURES & SERVICES
The Toms River outpatient center brings together a full range of pediatric specialty services in a setting designed to foster comfort, healing, and accessibility. The facility includes:

- Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy Suites

Rendina’s Role
Rendina served as developer and project manager, overseeing all aspects of the facility’s design and construction. Working closely with Children’s Specialized Hospital and RWJBarnabas Health, Rendina managed planning, permitting, and construction to deliver a highly specialized healthcare environment that meets stringent pediatric care standards. The project involved complex coordination among clinical, architectural, and engineering teams to accommodate specialized equipment, therapy spaces, and patient safety requirements.
Rendina’s leadership ensured that the facility was completed on schedule and aligned with the client’s operational and clinical goals, supporting the expansion of pediatric specialty care across the RWJBarnabas Health system.
