Expanding Access to Quality Emergency and Urgent Care in Jacksonville
UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Center – New Kings is a 12,240-square-foot hybrid medical facility that provides both emergency and urgent care services in one integrated location. Completed in 2023, the project is part of a multi-site partnership between Rendina Healthcare Real Estate, UF Health, and Intuitive Health to expand access to on-demand care throughout Northeast Florida. Strategically positioned in Jacksonville’s Northside community, the New Kings facility brings 24/7 emergency and walk-in urgent care closer to home for thousands of local residents.
FACILITY FEATURES & SERVICES
The New Kings center was designed to simplify how patients access immediate care by combining emergency and urgent services within a single building. The facility includes:
- Dedicated emergency and urgent care exam rooms supported by shared nursing and diagnostic areas
- 24-hour emergency department with trauma and triage capabilities
- On-site imaging including CT scan, X-ray, and laboratory testing
- Centralized registration and intake area for streamlined patient processing
- Physician-led clinical teams trained to assess and direct patients to the appropriate level of care
- Modern, comfortable interiors designed for efficiency and patient privacy
The facility follows Intuitive Health’s proven hybrid model, which eliminates guesswork for patients by providing emergency and urgent care services under one roof with clear, transparent billing and coordinated clinical operations.
Rendina’s Role
Rendina served as developer and project manager, leading the development from site planning and entitlement through construction and delivery. Working closely with UF Health and Intuitive Health, Rendina managed the entire project lifecycle to ensure consistency in design, functionality, and operational performance across multiple UF Health–Intuitive Health sites in the Jacksonville region. The New Kings facility was delivered on time and in alignment with both partners’ goals for expanding community-based access to emergency and urgent care.
Impact
The UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care Center – New Kings expands healthcare access in a growing area of Jacksonville, reducing travel times and easing the burden on nearby hospital emergency departments. The facility provides a convenient, efficient, and patient-centered alternative for both emergency and non-emergency medical needs. By delivering this project as part of a broader network of hybrid care centers, Rendina helped UF Health and Intuitive Health advance their shared mission to make high-quality, affordable care more accessible to the communities they serve.
